About the Book: Tech Equity: Freedom Through Enabling Technology

The First Operational Playbook for Enabling Technology and Remote Supports in IDD and Aging Services

The workforce crisis in disability and aging services is real. The system has been operating on a regulatory framework drafted in 1988, before the internet existed, before remote supports existed, before the people being served had the tools or the rights they have today. Patching that model with more staff and more compliance oversight is not a solution. It is more of the same.

This book is the way out.

No other published book in disability and aging services offers this level of original, intellectual architecture dedicated to the philosophy, implementation, and systemic integration of enabling technology and remote supports. This is the one.

The frameworks, blueprints, and principles in this book were not developed in a think tank. They were developed through over two decades of enabling technology implementation and over three decades of implementing best life practices, inside real agencies, alongside the people they were built to serve. They are the result of doing the work nobody else had a map for.

This book is for provider executives who are tired of patching a broken model. It is for state directors who need a framework, not just a vendor. It is for DSPs and frontline staff who deserve tools that actually help. It is for families and self-advocates who deserve a system designed around real lives, not shift schedules.

"The dream is independence. The path is enabling technology. The playbook is here."

She splits her time between Washington, DC and Bogotá, Colombia. And if you need to know where it all started, she is a native New Yorker, born and raised in South Jamaica, Queens.

"Now go build something that sets people free."
